Living in New Hampshire has given me plenty of opportunities to shoot in cold weather. If I were to skip shooting in the winter, I would give up some of the best opportunities at the range. No time of the year gives you less competition for use of the outdoor range than the winter. Whether you are attending an Appleseed Shoot or are just practicing for practical self-defense shooting, cold weather presents some challenges that make shooting more interesting.

Over the last few months I’ve been writing about various topics, mostly related to turning you into a better shooter. This month’s topic is a little different. What can you do as an individual to help further shooting and shooting sports in general? Skipping over some of the more obvious things, such as joining pro-gun organizations and voting for and supporting pro-gun elected officials, there are some things you as an individual shooter can do to help the sport and hobby of recreational shooting.
